One Extricated on Croton Avenue
By CFD Reporter
August 24, 2013
Croton Fire & Croton EMS were dispatched to Croton Avenue in the Town of Cortlandt around 5:40 AM for a reported Motor-Vehicle Accident with Injuries. On the assignment were Engine 118 and Rescue 18.
Car 2082 (A/C Vlad) arrived and reported a single car accident with up to three injured, and requested a second ambulance. Initially it appeared that nobody was trapped in the car, however further investigation revealed one occupant needed to be extricated from the back seat.
Personnel from both companies quickly removed the rear passenger side door, and assisted EMS with packaging the patient for transport. The other two occupants declined medical attention, so the second ambulance (from Ossining EMS) was cancelled en route.
All Croton FD units went back into service shortly after 7:00 AM. One patient was taken to an area hospital with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.
