By Explorer Tommy Kaplan
April 24, 2013
At 5:39 PM this evening, 60 Control dispatched Engine 118 and Rescue 18 along with Croton EMS in the area of the Danish Home on Quaker Bridge Road East for a Motor-Vehicle Accident with Injuries. Minutes later, Car 2082 (A/C Vlad) arrived on scene, established Command and notified dispatch of a car into a pole, with telephone and cable wires in the roadway.
Engine 118 and Rescue 18 arrived and blocked traffic from both sides, and sent their crews to assist with the removal of the broken pole, wires and debris that obstructed the roadway.
The two passengers in the car were checked out by Croton EMS, but refused further medical attention. The roadway were then cleared, and 2082 put all Croton Fire units back into service, turning the scene over to New York State Police at 6:15 PM.
