Unusual Call at CET School
By CFD Staff Reporter
April 15, 2013
At 12:45 this Monday, Croton's emergency services - the Croton Police, Croton EMS and Croton Fire Departments - were called to the Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School for an unusual incident.
At the scene, CFD personnel found a young boy that managed to get a finger trapped within an automatic hand soap dispenser in one of the school's restrooms. Personnel went to work disassembling the unit with the help of CPD and school staff.
With the boy both frightened and in agony, at the request of the Paramedic from Ossining EMS, the child was sent to the Westchester Medical Center to complete removal of the trapped finger. As of press time, it is believed that the child sustained only a minor injury and was released from the hospital in a short time.
