More Snow: More Headaches
By CFD Reporter 912

Another winter event hit the Croton area this morning, bringing a couple inches of snow, freezing rain and ice.
At just before 5AM, 60 Control dispatched the CFD to the area of 345 Grand Street for wires on fire. On arrival, units found a 13KV power line in contact with a tree, arcing and causing a fire.
Engine 118 remained on scene for about an hour until turning the scene over to Con Edison. Route 129 in both directions was closed to all traffic for this time, making those trying to get around have to detour up Batten Road.
