Santa Claus Visits Croton
By Santa's Helper
December 16, 2012
On Sunday, December 16th, Croton Fire Department volunteers spent the day on their apparatus - no, it wasn't an emergency - it was a mission to spread some holiday cheer.
Despite a gloomy and occasionally rainy day, Croton's Bravest took to the streets of Croton, bringing Santa Claus around town aboard Engines 118, 119 and 120, with Tanker 10 and Rescue 18 in tow. Rolling down every neighborhood in the village and, for the first time ever, the outlying Fire Protection District, Santa and his CFD Elves passed out candy canes to children and adults who were anxiously awaiting his arrival.
In addition to the neighborhood visits, Santa also stopped in and said hello to the folks at Sky View Nursing Home, the Danish Home for the Aged and Shoprite.
On behalf of Chief Munson and the merry men and women of the Croton Fire Department, we thank everyone that made our annual tradition worth while. We'll see you all again next year - assuming you've all been nice!
