Explorer Post Holds Monthly Drill

On Wednesday evening, members of our youth program - Explorer Post 2089 - conducted a monthly drill reviewing searches. The drill was led by Lieutenant Joe Kempter and Firefighter Matt Mallory of Washington Engine Company.
Using the apparatus bay of Station #2, some obstacles were set up, along with a hose line, to help mimic conditions firefighters frequently encounter during a search in smoke and fire.
With their vision obscured by wearing hoods over their SCBA masks, those that participated did very well and continued to sharpen their skills.
