On Sunday afternoon, Croton EMS was summoned to the pathway that connects Croton Point Park to Half Moon Bay for an injured bicyclist. When they arrived, it was realized that more help would be needed, and they made the request for Croton Fire.

Originally dispatched was Engine 120, however when Car 2081 arrived and spoke with CEMS personnel, it was realized that a Stokes basket and ropes may be needed. Based on this, Rescue 18 was sent on the assignment in place of E120.

After packaging the patient - who sustained a serious injury to her arm - CFD personnel were able to put her on the stretcher and roll her some 100 yards to the awaiting ambulance.

A quick and hefty response of nearly 20 CFD volunteers was on hand to assist Croton EMS, who transported the patient to the Westchester Medical Center "ALS."

CFD units went back into service after 35 minutes.
