Joint Company Extrication Drill for Chemical & Washington Engine Companies

On Monday evening, members from our Chemical and Washington Engine Companies got together for a vehicle extrication drill at our Grand Street Firehouse.
Using a donated SUV, our personnel reviewed the steps to be taken to secure a vehicle, how to assist trapped victims, various ways to remove all doors as well as the roof.
Also achieved in this drill was a side by side comparison of the two different types of battery-power hydraulic tools these units carry to give the members an idea of each's strong points and their disadvantages.
Having donated vehicles to train on is one of the best ways we can prepare for incidents involving vehicle collisions where victims are trapped in them. If you have a vehicle to donate to us, please email info@crotonfd.org.
