Shortly before midnight on Sunday evening, our Tanker 10 was sent on a "Dual Response" with the Millwood FD and Ossining FD FASTeam for a reported Structure Fire on Croton Dam Road in the Town of New Castle.

Upon MFD's arrival, they located an abandoned structure located up a long, overgrown driveway with fire showing on multiple floors of the stone building. Due to the limited access, their Mini-Attack 10 - a Ford F550 with firefighting capabilities - was sent up to the fire scene, while Tankers from Millwood, Croton and Bedford Hills sent water up the driveway via 5" supply hose.

Members of these three departments put three attack hose lines into service, hitting fire on five different levels of the unique, century-old building. Years of trespassers and neglect to the building made for some unique challenges, however the members involved did an excellent job reaching all areas of this structure and extinguished the fire in a relatively short order.

The CFD operated for close to three hours before being released by Millwood Command. A total response of 8 members were on scene.
