At 7:30 AM on a frigid Thursday morning, the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Dailey Drive for a report of a Motor-Vehicle Fire.

Units arrived to find garbage bags with construction debris - including sawdust and oily rags - spontaneously combusted in the back of a contractor's van. Prior to FD arrival people - including Croton DPW personnel - removed the contents from the vehicle. CFD members soaked down the burning trash and checked for fire in the van before taking up a short time later.
