On Thursday, December 17th, the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department was requested to a Mutual Aid Structural Fire for the third time in a week - this time to the Village of Ossining.

At 2:20 PM, the OFD was dispatched to an activated fire alarm at the FSW Senior Housing Building on Maple Place. While responding, an update was given for an active fire in an apartment with one person possibly trapped. Car 2332 (OFD Asst. Chief Gallery) requested our FASTeam to the scene, prompting a response of our Car 2081, Car 2082 and Engine 119.

After OFD and Ossining Police officers rescued the occupant from the smoky apartment, they made quick work of the kitchen fire which extended into other areas of the 6th floor apartment. FASTeam personnel staged on the floor below in the event of a firefighter emergency until being released around 3:00 PM.

The apartment's occupant was taken by Ossining EMS to Westchester Medical Center for smoke inhalation and burn injuries.
