At about 2PM on Thursday, July 21st, Croton Fire was dispatched to South Riverside Avenue for a reported structure fire at one of the gas stations. Shortly after dispatch, updated information was relayed that it was the business at the corner of Benedict Boulevard, and that there was no fire - only an accidental activation of the fie suppression system.

Car 2082 (A/C Colombo) arrived first and confirmed there was no fire and that a technician working on the system inadvertently set off the Ansul System. Rescue 18, virtually located across the street, quickly positioned themselves to divert pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the area. Engine 119 arrived and sent their crew to check the station to ensure all occupants were out.

Command held all companies on the scene awaiting the arrival of the Westchester County Health Department, diverting traffic until cleanup was performed.

Croton Fire remained on scene for three hours.
