At 6:40 PM on Wednesday, 4/20, the Somers Volunteer Fire Department as well as multiple Mutual Aid companies were operating at a large, wind-driven brush fire off of Lovell Street. A shift in the wind caused the fire to rapidly grow and move towards some nearby homes, so additional resources - including our Tanker 10 - were called to the scene.

Tanker 10, along with Car 2082, were on the road in two minutes. Upon our arrival, T10 nursed an Engine from Goldens Bridge for a short time before being returned to service at about 8:20 PM.

The fire caused damage over an area estimated to be about 5 acres in size.
