Tanker 10 on Briarcliff Mulch/Waste Fire...Again

Our Tanker 10 was part of a "Tanker Task Force" to the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department today. Units, once again, were called to extinguish a fire in a compost/waste pile on Claybird Lane in the Town of Mount Pleasant.

T10, along with Tankers from Millwood Fire, Pleasantville FD and Pocantico Hills FD shuttled over 100,000 gallons of water to the scene.
Tanker 10 operated for close to six hours supplying water, two folding portable tanks and hose to the effort. Using the aerial device of BMFD's TL40, and using construction equipment, the pile was taken apart and water was discharged on the fire.

This was the sixth time in one year that Tanker 10 has assisted our brothers in Briarcliff with this seemingly never-ending burning mountain of brush. Ironically, the first time was one year and one day in the past - on September 30, 2014.

Nevertheless, we're always happy to help our neighbors and other departments whenever the need arises!
