Just before 8:00 AM this past Wednesday, Croton Fire and Croton EMS were dispatched to Grand Street - also known as Route 129 - near the Village Line for a Rollover Motor-Vehicle Accident. Responding on this assignment were Engine 118, Rescue 18 and Car 2089 (Dep. Chief J.M. Munson).

Upon arrival, units found one vehicle, traveling westbound towards the village, had apparently left the roadway, striking a boulder and flipping over in the middle of the roadway. The sole occupant was able to get out and was in the care of Croton EMS. Personnel from E118 & R18 contained a fluids spill from the vehicle, controlled traffic and pushed the boulder out of a driveway back into the grassy area where it came from.

Once the vehicle was removed from the roadway, Command placed the situation under control and returned all Croton FD units to service. The driver was taken via Croton EMS 55B1 to a local hospital for evaluation.
