At 7:05 last Monday morning, ‎Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department‬ units were called to Amber Drive and Robin Lane in the Village's north end for a dumpster fire. Units dispatched were Engine 119 and Rescue 18, and both were responding minutes later along with Car 2081 (Chief Vlad), and Deputy Chief 2084 (G. Munson).

E119 arrived first, and the crew of five pulled the front bumper mounted "Trash Line," a 1 3/4" hose that is pre-connected to the apparatus' pump. Car 2084 arrived next and established command. A few minutes later, the fire was out and units picked up. Luckily the dumpster fire was caught early and did not spread to other nearby dumpsters or the wooden fence surrounding them. It is believed improperly disposed of charcoal was the cause of the fire.

All CFD units returned to service within 20 minutes.
