As we do each year, our members and apparatus participated in the annual Croton Summerfest Community Parade yesterday.

While we were lining up to march into the "Upper Village," companies were dispatched to a Residential Fire Alarm on Lexington Drive. Units determined the alarm was activated from steam from a shower and promptly returned to Veterans Corners where we marched behind the other village civic groups. This parade is dubbed the unofficial start of Summer here in our beloved village, and the weather was nearly perfect to do it.

This year's parade Grand Marshall was Pat Calcutti. Mr. Calcutti recently stepped down after many years leading the Croton VFW charter. In addition to being a Navy veteran himself, he also served over 25 years as a member of the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department, and is an active, nearly 50 year member and Past Captain, of Harmon Engine Company No. 3. This honor couldn't be bestowed to a better example of a loyal "Crotonite."

Many thanks to R. Kaplan, J. Powers & M. Cudequest for the use of their photos.
