Croton-on-Hudson Firefighters were called to an activated fire alarm at The Circle School / Our Savior Lutheran Church on Cleveland Drive around 5:25 PM on Tuesday. On the arrival of Car 2081 (Chief Vlad) just over a minute later, he encountered a moderate to heavy smoke condition in the building and struck out a full First Alarm Response.

Car 2083 (Assistant Chief Colombo) arrived moments later, taking the "Operations" role while Vlad took "Command." Engine 118 and Tanker 10 arrived simultaneously and sent crews in to the building to investigate. Engine 120 arrived and located a hydrant and sent their personnel up to assist. The source of the smoke was two ovens that were in self-cleaning mode that had grease fires within them. Power was disabled to the units and fans were set up to vent the building.

Rescue 18 was assigned the front of the building to provide it's on-board power cord for the two exhaust fans companies used to vent the smoke and Tower Ladder 44 took up a nearby position in the event additional equipment was needed. Engine 119 arrived and provided additional personnel.

The additional units on the box - which included Tankers from Millwood and Continental Village - were cancelled en route, and the balance of the assignment was cancelled during dispatch, as Command deemed the situation manageable by the on-scene CFD resources.

Units cleared the scene roughly 35 minutes later, and a response of three dozen CFD volunteers were on location.
