As a winter storm began to cover our area with snow, our neighbors to the south - the Ossining Volunteer Fire Department - were dispatched to a reported house fire on Market Street. With personnel in quarters at our Station #2, we knew it was only a matter of minutes before our tones would go out.

OFD Car 2331 (Chief Scarduzio) requested his First Alarm for a working basement fire, bringing our FASTeam on the assignment at 12:15 AM. Minutes later, Car 2083 and Engine 119 were on the way.

Upon arrival, our crew made it's way up to the scene and took up position on the A/B side of the dwelling. OFD units had the fire extinguished and were opening up, and we were released roughly an hour later.

Quick work by the OFD Bravest kept this fire from spreading into the apartments above.

Thanks to Lt. Ferguson and the OFD E96 Facebook Page / Jon Thomas Camp for photos.
