Around 4:45 PM this rainy Tuesday, the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department's Firefighter Assist & Search Team (FAST) was auto-dispatched with Yorktown Heights FD to a reported chimney fire in their first due area.

Car 2083 and Engine 119 turned out minutes later, bringing 8 members to the scene and maintaining a crew at Station 2 for Tanker 10. With the fire contained in only a matter of minutes, the Croton units were downgraded to a non-emergency response. Upon arrival the crew checked out the scene and returned to service a short time later.

On a side note, congratulations to the Yorktown Heights FD, as they received the approval of their voters to do upgrades and an addition to their Locksley Road firehouse this evening.
