Just as our members were getting ready for bed this evening, the pager went off and the CFD went into action. At 9:20 PM, Croton EMS was dispatched to 94 Mount Airy Road East for a lift assist. With EMS initially unable to respond, Croton Fire was added to the assignment. Assistant Chief Mansfield (Car 2083) and Engine 118 were on the road in minutes. 2083 arrived on scene, and learned that that a CFD member who lives nearby and some other neighbors had gained entry into the home and assisted the patient back up from her fall. He placed all Croton Fire units in service shortly after, and the patient refused medical attention from Croton EMS.

Just as everyone was ready to go back home, Croton Fire and EMS were dispatched to Route 9 Southbound for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment. On the assignment were Engines 119 & 120 along with Rescue 18. Deputy Chief J. Streany (2087) arrived on scene and reported one patient entrapped in the overturned vehicle. Engine 119 was on the scene moments later with a crew of six, and with the help of Croton Police, were able to get the patient out of the vehicle and into the care of Croton EMS. Rescue 18 provided traffic assistance as Car 2083, who assumed command, placed Engine 120 in service. Units held on the scene to wait for a tow truck to remove the vehicle. Croton Fire units returned to service around 11:00pm
