Three Vehicle MVA on Route 129
By CFD Reporter 2
July 5, 2017
At 8:45 Wednesday morning, Croton Fire, Croton EMS and the Ossining EMS Paramedic Fly-Car were dispatched to a motor-vehicle accident on Route 129 near the Croton Dam.
Upon the arrival of Engines 118 & 119, they found a three vehicle accident on westbound Route 129 with one female injured. According to witnesses and those involved, vehicle 1 stopped for a garbage can left in the roadway, and then vehicle 2 stopped but vehicle 3 was unable to stop in time, striking vehicle 2 which then hit vehicle 1.
CFD personnel shut down all traffic while EMS treated the female from vehicle #2, and cleaned the spilled fluids from the bucket truck. Once it was safe to do so, eastbound traffic was reopened and, about 90 minutes later, all traffic was allowed through.
In addition to the two Engine Companies, Utility 14 was added to the run for additional absorbent material.
Car 2089 (D/C J. Munson) had the "Route 129 Command."
