On a beautiful Saturday a couple of weeks ago, the Croton Fire Patrol No. 1 held a "New Apparatus Dedication" for their newest addition, a 2015 Spartan ERV / Rescue 1 apparatus.

This apparatus was purchased from the Hendrickson Fire Rescue Equipment Company in Islandia, NY earlier this year. Rescue 18 officially went into service on the morning of April 3rd and has answered multiple calls since.

In addition to the new rig ceremony, the Officers and Members of Croton Fire Patrol recognized Past Captain and Past President Augie Conti for achieving his 50th year of service with the company. Prior to his time here, he was a member of the Ossining Fire Police for a number of years as well. Also recognized was Past Captain and Department Chaplain John Coyne for his nearly 50 years of service.

A special treat for all at the event - in addition to the new apparatus - was a surprise visit from the Company's 1963 Mack / Gerstenslager apparatus, which proudly served the Croton FD from 1963 until 1993 when it was replaced by the recently retired 1993 International / Cayel Craft.

We look forward to having this specialized unit serving our department, the Croton community and beyond for years to come!

Thanks to E. Conti, J. Nohai and J. Powers for their photos.
