At about 4:40 PM on Friday, May 12th, the Croton Park Ranger rolled up on a head-on collision on Grand Street (AKA Route 129) and Wood Road, and requested Croton Fire and EMS to respond. Answering the call were Car 2084 (DC Gerry Munson), Engine 118 (Chemical), Engine 119 (Washington), Rescue 18 and about two dozen CFD volunteers.

Upon Car 2084's arrival he confirmed the head-on collision with up to four injured parties. A second ambulance was then requested to the scene. First-arriving Engine 119 - with E118 right behind it - sent their personnel up to the scene to begin assisting the injured, containing the spilled fluids from both vehicles and securing the scene.

Luckily, the eastbound SUV which had 3 subjects - including two children - contained several air bags and other safety features, thus preventing any major injuries to the occupants. The driver of the westbound vehicle was out of the car and walking around upon our arrival.

Three patients were taken by Croton EMS - with Ossining EMS personnel on board - while a fourth party was taken into custody by Croton Police. The roadway was reopened a little over an hour later. No serious injuries were reported.
