For the fourth time in April - and the second time in less than a week - the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department was called to a Working Structure Fire.

At 1:48 AM on Tuesday, the CFD was called as a FASTeam to the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department on their "10-75" assignment. Also on this box was an Engine & Truck from Ossining Fire Department, a Truck from Millwood Fire and Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

While assembling our crew (8 volunteers), Briarcliff Command struck the 2nd Alarm reporting a fully involved house fire. This brought an Engine from Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department, a Truck from The Chappaqua Fire Department, a Mask Service Unit from Buchanan Eng Co. and a Rehab Unit from Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps to the scene.

The structure collapsed as we arrived on scene, resulting in an entirely exterior fire attack mode. Our members provided safety monitoring while members from the other agencies attacked the inferno. In total, five Engine Companies, four Ladder Companies, and a few other fire service apparatus were on scene.

Engine 119 and Car 2089 remained on scene until 4:20 AM. Fortunately all occupants escaped the fast-moving blaze and no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.

So far in April we have responded to Ossining, Yorktown and now Briarcliff for structure fires, as well as handling one in our own village last week.
