Bravest on Croton Avenue Rollover
By CFD News Team
January 14, 2015
Shortly after 5:00 PM on Wednesday, Croton's Bravest were dispatched to a reported Rollover Motor-Vehicle Accident with injuries on Croton Avenue in the Town of Cortlandt. On the assignment were Engine 118 and Rescue 18.
The first-arriving CFD units were Car 2089 (DC J. Munson) and Car 2086 (DC F. Streany), with Car 2089 initiating the "Croton Avenue Command." Command reported one vehicle on it's roof, about 1/4 mile in from Short Hill Road with both occupants out of the vehicle.
Croton EMS 55B2 arrived and began patient care, while Engine 118 checked the safety of the vehicle. A short time later, Car 2082 (AC Mansfield) arrived and assumed Command from DC Munson, who redirected to the intersection of Baptist Church Road to divert traffic, similar to Rescue 18 at the intersection of Short Hill Road.
CFD units remained on scene with the State Police until the vehicle was removed by a tow truck. Croton EMS took the two occupants to an area hospital for evaluation.
All Croton Fire units returned to service at 5:55 PM.
