Rescue 18 Takes Home Inspection Award
By CFD Reporter
September 13, 2014
Even though the weather didn't cooperate, the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department's annual Inspection still went off without a hitch.
Due to on again, off again rain all day, the apparatus were judged in their respective quarters prior to the start of the event at Harmon Firehouse. After, all of the apparatus assembled for review by department members, Village officials and visiting fire departments.
A fantastic meal was prepared by our own department chef, Rich Cappelazzi and his crew. Chief Vlad (this being his fifth Inspection as Chief of the Department), welcomed our guests and gave out awards to the top responders of 2013.
To culminate the night's events, the Chief's Award for Best Appearing Apparatus was awarded to Rescue 18, narrowly beating out Engines 118 and 119, who were tied for second place.
Congratulations to all on another successful year, and another great Inspection!
Thanks to J. Karpoff and J. Powers for their photos.
