On Tuesday at 11:05 AM, multiple 911 calls came pouring in reporting the building on fire at South Riverside Avenue and Clinton Streets in the Harmon section of the village. When Car 2082 (A/C Mansfield) marked on responding, based on the number of calls -and the fact that our Engine 120 is out for maintenance - he requested an Engine & a FAS Team from Ossining right away.

Moments later, units were on scene confirming fire showing from the roof of Samurai Japanese Restaurant and transmitted the "10-75." Based on the location, an extra Ladder Company was dispatched from Ossining, and Yorktown's FAS Team was sent in place of Ossining.

Engine 119 arrived and took First Due responsibilities, grabbing the hydrant on Clinton Street. Engine 118 took a position on South Riverside, leaving room for our Tower Ladder 44. Ossining E97 & TL42 took a position in the parking lot in the rear, handling the Third Due Engine & Second Due Truck roles. T10 & R18 were also on scene, assisting with traffic control and providing manpower.

Six minutes after dispatch, Command reported one line stretched, crews going to the roof and water on the fire. A second hose line was then pulled to the roof to assist members with getting at the fire, which was mostly located within the kitchen exhaust duct work.

Fifteen minutes after arrival, Command reported all visible fire had been knocked down, crews had 2 lines stretched / operating, and placed the incident as "probable will hold." At 11:32, only 27 minutes after the incident was reported, Command placed it "under control" and began releasing units.

The fire appeared to be accidental, and no injuries occurred to civilians or first responders.

The Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department extends our appreciation to Croton EMS, as well as our Mutual Aid companies - Ossining FD, Buchanan FD, Yorktown FD and Ossining EMS on scene, as well as Montrose FD, Lake Mohegan FD and Cortlandt EMS for covering our district (including an outside gas investigation call) during this incident.

All units returned to service at 12:45 PM. Croton-on-Hudson FD had over 30 volunteers on scene, with another 30 plus from the Mutual Aid companies on scene and covering our district.
